Green Street Rescue (GSR) is an all volunter non-profit whose goal is to humanely reduce the stray cat population in Philadelphia, through rescue work and the practice of Trap-Neuter-Return-Manage (TNRM) for feral cats.
Dear Cat Lovers:
Green Street Rescue (GSR) would like to take this opportunity to wish y a healthy and fur-filled new year. Purrs of thanks to all of you who have donated your time and or money to help GSR rescue strays and ferals off our streets and lots, provide them with medical care and foster homesand /or “fur-ever” homes.
We have struggled with the tough weather and economy this year but have made many friends along the way and saved many cats. GSR helped 203 cats find a better life or return to their managed colony spayed or neutered and vaccinated.
GSR, also, as a member of Philadelphia Community Cats Council (PCCC) has been part of their huge success this year. Their clinics spayed or neutered over 3913 cats. Their goal for 2011 is 5000. PCCC is a low cost spay/neuter clinic for stray , feral and abandoned cats in the Philadelphia area, helping to fulfill a needed service for the city. By reducing the number of unwanted cats, PCCC will enhance the health of Philadelphia’s cat population as a whole. For more details their website is: www.phillycats.org
So once again, a special year-end Thank You to everyone for their help, their love and concern for our four-legged friends. It takes teamwork to save them and protect them and I am grateful for all the teamwork at GSR.
Here is to a wonderful 2011 filled with lots of spays and neuters.
Let there be peace for mankind and food and shelter for the cats.
